Reflection

One of the most amazing truths about God is that He desires to communicate with us. Not only does He want us to listen when He speaks, He also wants us to tell Him everything – our thoughts, fears, sins and hopes. The fact that God listens to us is especially important when we ask Him for help.

In order to communicate with God, to talk and listen to him, we don’t have to follow some specific formula or ritual. What we do need to do is to set aside time to focus our minds on Him and His word. Let’s say we want to bring a specific need to the Lord in prayer. What are we willing to sacrifice out of our daily routine in order to focus all of our attention on asking God for help?

Collect for the Day

Lord of all life and power, who through the mighty resurrection of your Son overcame the old order of sin and death to make all things new in him: grant that we, being dead to sin and alive to you in Jesus Christ, may reign with him in glory; to whom with you and the Holy Spirit be praise and honour, glory and might, now and in all eternity. Amen.
