Reflection

Have you ever felt ignored? Do your peers at work ever discuss a group outing and leave you out of their plans? Has your family ever made you feel insecure and less than perfect? God enables us to put earthly troubles in perspective. No matter what happens, no matter who turns a cold shoulder, we have the friendship of our heavenly Father. Remind yourself today of the great privilege of friendship God gave you when you came to Christ. Thank Him that you are no longer ignored. Then think about the needs of those who are ignored and rejected. Commit to pray for them. Take steps to ease their loneliness. Just as Jesus was known for befriending the friendless, we must be known by the kindness we show.

Collect for the Day

Lord of all life and power, who through the mighty resurrection of your Son overcame the old order of sin and death to make all things new in him: grant that we, being dead to sin and alive to you in Jesus Christ, may reign with him in glory; to whom with you and the Holy Spirit be praise and honour, glory and might, now and in all eternity. Amen.
