Reflection

The information age allows us to witness and read about the evil things that plague our world. But we have a source of hope that surpasses the world’s despair. By reading the Bible – God’s Good News – we can be reminded daily that God has overcome whatever trial we face. Now that is good news indeed! Ask God to make His Word the lens through which you view the world. Ask Him to help you study Scripture in a thoughtful, life-changing way.

Lord, I pray that you will open the truths of your Scriptures to me so that I can be filled with the assurance that you are ultimately in charge and that soon the world will be transformed by the return of your Son.

Collect for the Day

O God, the protector of all who trust in you, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy: increase and multiply upon us your mercy; that with you as our ruler and guide we may so pass through things temporal that we lose not our hold on things eternal; grant this, heavenly Father, for our Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
