Psalm 126

Reflection

Jesus said you can’t serve two masters. In this world, you’ll be continually tempted to pursue money and possessions. To some people, that’s all there is to life. They spend their time collecting things only to leave them all behind when they die. Which master do you follow? Jesus calls us to make a decision to live contentedly with whatever we have. It’s a decision we’ll benefit from forever and ever.

Ask God to give you a heart that pursues Him rather than money or possessions. In prayer, acknowledge that He is your master and that you desire to follow and serve Him as long as you’re on this earth. Thank Him for the Heavenly treasures that await you because of your obedience.

Collect for the Day

Almighty and eternal God, who, for the firmer foundation of our faith, allowed your holy apostle Thomas to doubt the resurrection of your Son till word and sight convinced him: grant to us, who have not seen, that we also may believe and so confess Christ as our Lord and our God; who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
