Reflection

We show we are Christians by how we act. Many great believers' actions speak for themselves. How can we shine righteousness like these men and women have? By putting on "clothing" of holiness, righteousness, and justice. That’s what you wear for success in God’s Kingdom. You may feel awkward or overdressed if you wear a formal gown or business suit to a hockey game. But there is no awkwardness in Christ’s righteousness, however . . . only awe at the splendor of the robe and crown. Thank the Righteous One, Jesus Christ, for “buying” your new wardrobe. Thank the Lord for His righteousness that covers you. Ask Him to show you how you specifically can shine His righteousness where you are.

Collect for the Day

Almighty God, you have broken the tyranny of sin and have sent the Spirit of your Son into our hearts whereby we call you Father: give us grace to dedicate our freedom to your service, that we and all creation may be brought to the glorious liberty of the children of God; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
