Reflection

A caring person goes beyond the “letter of the law.” They'll do more than the mere basics for someone they’ve hurt. It’s an attitude that will make you more “other-focused” rather than “self-focused.” Best of all, you can make a huge impact in the lives of people who have been hurt by lovingly paying them back, in Jesus’ name, more than what’s expected.

Praise God for His justice and His mercy. Ask Him to make you sensitive to the ways in which you may hurt or rob others and to give you guidance for offering a generous payback. Ask Him to give you a heart for justice.

Lord, help me to be just in all my actions and that I will demonstrate fairness whenever I am the cause of someone’s misfortune.

Collect for the Day

O God, the protector of all who trust in you, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy: increase and multiply upon us your mercy; that with you as our ruler and guide we may so pass through things temporal that we lose not our hold on things eternal; grant this, heavenly Father, for our Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
