Reflection

Jesus shook up the religious establishment of His time. It was an establishment that had fallen way off base. Yet He never sinned. He never broke a single law of God. He was able to live a life of perfect obedience. Let Jesus be the Lord of your Sabbath and the Lord of every day of your life as you rely on Him for strength and direction. Ask God to show you where you are just going through the motions of keeping rules rather than obeying out of the right motivations.

Collect for the Day

God our redeemer, you have delivered us from the power of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of your Son: grant, that as by his death he has recalled us to life, so by his continual presence in us he may raise us to eternal joy; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
