Gathering songs are songs which are sung as people take their places in the worship space. In a contemporary worship style the gathering song(s) replace the traditional prelude. As people are coming into the worship space, a song leader may be leading the congregation in singing. This singing is most often that of praise songs or folk songs, but can also include hymns. The music is usually upbeat and spirited to express the joy of coming into the presence of God. Examples of the gathering songs are: Hymns "Brethren, We Have Met to Worship" "Come We That Love the Lord" "Praise the Lord! O Heavens Adore Him" "I Will Sing of the Mercies" "The Gathering" Choruses "We Bring a Sacrifice of Praise" "It Is Good to Give Thanks" "All Hail King Jesus" "Praise the Name of Jesus" "We Want to Bless You" "Come and Worship" "Glorify Your Name" "Clap Your Hands"…
